30 Minutes a Day

Each summer, the City School District encourages students to choose a book and read 30 minutes per day. Every day.

The Health Ministry at Mt. Olivet supports this initiative.  We also encourage you to join the initiative by choosing a book and committing to reading it over the summer recess.

Why read?

Reading can help to develop your verbal skills, improve your focus, reduce stress and improve your memory.  So, visit the Little Lending Library to see if there's a book that might interest you.  It's simple, take a book to read, leave a book to share.

God bless, Sis. Shirlyn, Health Ministry Chair

Grades K-6:  Test Preparation
In an effort to help our youth to increase their skills and confident, the
Youth Core Team will distribute weekly work sheets for Language Arts and Math at the Youth Table after Sunday morning service. Please encourage your child to participate in this program and assist them in grasping learning and testing concepts required to be more successful during Test Taking Sessions.

Process Steps:

1.  Pick-up Worksheets after Sunday Morning Service

2.  Students put you "full name" at the top of each sheet

3.  Return these worksheets on the following Sunday

4.  Ask any questions Questions and/or concerns that you had with any

problems or learning concepts on the completed worksheet before you turn in for review and correction

5.  Pick-up NEW worksheets and complete by the next Sunday

We know that our young people have great potential. Let's pray for them, encourage them, and help them to become True Scholars !!!

***Parents/Family Members can pick up information about the "common core tests" at the youth table TODAY.
