The Food Pantry - We have been very busy serving many families in our community. The Committee wishes to thank and encourage you to continue bringing in nonperishable food items. The  most widely needed items include: powered milk, breakfast cereals (hot & cold), crackers, peanut butter, jams/jelly, tuna fish, salmon, can vegetables, soups, rice, pasta, spaghetti and sauces, potato buds, and Jell-O.  If you or anyone you know are in need, please don't hesitate to contact Esther Cresswell, 586-1825 or Paulette McEwen, 328-2774.
Senior Appreciation Day - This Celebration will be held on Sunday, August 17th, following the 10:45 a.m. Praise Service!  Any Mt. Olivet member, 75 years of age or older are invited to sign the attendance form which will be in Whitaker hall after service. Facilitators Needed For Disciple Bible Study-  A 3-hour training session will be held on Thursday, September 4th, at 5:30pm. Food will be served. There will also be a Disciple Bible Study for youth.

No Singles Ministry Meeting in July, August and September -   The next meeting will be held on Thursday, October 9th, 6:00pm.
Writers Needed - The Mt. Olivet History Committee is still collecting information which will be used to write a Mt. Olivet History Book that will be published in 2010.  We still need writers who can write first drafts.  Please e-mail Irene Ingram at isingram@rochester.rr.com if you are interested.
CRCDS, Dr. MLK, Jr Honors - The Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School (CRCDS)  is honoring the legacy and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by endowing a "chair" entitled "The Martin Luther King, Jr. Chair for Social Justice and Black Church Studies." Please direct your contribution to:

Upward Bound, MCC - Current 8th, 9th, and 10th graders attending Rochester City Schools are encouraged to apply for Upward Bound, a program at MCC to motivate and assist students with entry into and graduate from college. Please call 262-1658 for details.
Learn to swim for FREE -  The City is hosting a free “Summer Swim Academy”

Caregiver Support Services - If you are caring for an aging loved one and are interested in receiving support at your convenience, in your own home, please contact the Caregiver Support Services Resource Center at 760-5470.
Marriage Requests - Anyone seeking to get married and have the ceremony performed by Rev. Hargrave is asked to request this service six months in advance of the date of the wedding. Thank you for your cooperation.

The White House Internship Program -  This is an opportunity for current students and recent graduates to experience everyday life at the White House, while working with high level officials on a variety of tasks and projects. Beyond experiencing the day-to-day operations, interns will participate in a speaker series, tours, community service projects and various events.   Nursing Program, Free Tuition - If you know of anyone between 18-28 years old, interested in the Nursing field, University of the District of Columbia (UDC) is offering FREE tuition, FREE books, a $250 monthly stipend, and guaranteed job placement as a nurse at Providence Hospital upon graduation with a starting salary of $40,000. It is a 3 year program.

Antioch Missionary Baptist Church’s 63rd Anniversary, Aug 24th, 4:00pm. - Please come out and join Rev. Hargrave as he provides the message to help celebrate. The theme is “Standing On The Promises Of God”. All are encouraged to attend!
Health Fair, August 30th, 10:00am – 4:00pm - Action For A Better Community, WellCare, Unity Health System, BLCA, and Faith Community Alliance have joined together to provide a health fair, targeted to the African American Community. This event will be held in the large parking lot at Unity Health System’s Genesee Street Campus.

Bulletin Announcement Wednesday Noon Deadline must be met - Please Note:  The deadline for submitting information for the bulletin is Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Announcements not received by this timeline, will NOT be announced on Sunday during Church services.  Your support is required to ensure compliance!

Prior Approval Required - ALL individuals making purchases on behalf of Mt Olivet Baptist Church must have prior APPROVAL FIRST!   BEFORE making a purchase, please pick up a TAX EXEMPT FORM from the Church Office. We will no longer reimburse for taxes paid at time of purchase.
